Thanks to our Summer Feeding Super Stars and many volunteers, over 50,000 meals were served during Summer 2026!
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH 2026 is here!
Since 2008, the Henry County School System's Family Resource Center has sponsored an annual Back to School Bash, providing school supplies to students as they gear up for a new school year. Five years ago, the Family Resource Center and The Shed--which also had a distribution for two years prior-- partnered together to make this event even better for our community!
Friday, approximately 100 volunteers came together to unload boxes of supplies, organize materials, and pack 1500 backpacks! Saturday, volunteers will gather to distribute backpacks to children and cheer them on to a great start to the school year!
The annual Back to School Bash would not be possible without our community. Both Darlene Russell, HCSS Director of the Family Resource Center, and Michelle Brewer of The Shed emphasize the importance of the Henry County community in making such an event a success. Community donations from businesses and individuals, along with many volunteer hours, are integral to this event and much appreciated.
Thank You to all involved! We are looking forward to greeting excited and smiling children tomorrow!
